Description

Nepenthes mira "Mirror" is the male clone of N. mira sold by Borneo Exotics under the catalog number BE-3123. A regular bloomer for Predatory Plants, it has produced a fair number of greges and is a very valuable breeder. "Mirror" has large, roundish leaves with narrow attachments and distinctive striations when mature. The rosette remains fairly compact, and the plant doesn't vine easily. Lower pitchers are large and squat, formed at the end of long tendrils, and feature a well-developed flared peristome and a distinctive orangish-pink coloration with speckles. Texture is fairly waxy, and the stem is robust.

Breeding

"Mirror" blooms fairly consistently, and has produced several hybrids. More will be added as they are produced and reach maturity. Each grex is described more fully on the "Grex Information" tab of its individual entry.

Hybrids involving "Mirror" use the following secondary epithets: Mirror.

Because of the different reproductive habits of male plants, "generations" are poorly-defined. Greges are listed by month of sowing.
