The purple pitcher plant is the most cold hardy Sarracenia, and can take temperatures down to 20F.  This particular strain originated in Lake District of Muskoka, Ontario, and is one of the fastest growing purple pitcher plants that we have seen.  Under optimal conditions, pitchers of this Sarracenia purpurea can get very large and dark purple, especially with warm, sunny days and cool nights.  This strain is rare in the wild and quite uncommon in collections.
Product Details
Grow in full sun and keep the soil wet at all times. Like other American pitcher plants, these will go dormant in the winter and re-emerge in the spring.
