Description

What a mouthful, but what a beauty!

Sarracenia psittacina var. okefenokeensis f. luteoviridis is an extremely rare, gigantic, all green version of the parrot pitcher plant! Parrot pitcher plants normally have marble sized red pitchers with red flowers, but this plant can produce green pitchers the size of golf balls with yellow flowers!

It has been reported that the site in Gulf County, Florida where the original all green giant parrot pitcher plant comes from has been destroyed. Fortunately, a fellow carnivorous plant enthusiast had the foresight to take a sample and preserve it in cultivation. Fast forward a few decades later, we have grown out seeds from the original specimen used to describe S. psittacina var. okefenokeensis f. luteoviridis, and these are the plants offered.

Unlike the normal sized all green parrot pitcher plant, which is notoriously slow growing and difficult to keep alive, the giant all green parrot pitcher plant is vigorous and easy to grow. Plants offered are strong with healthy root systems. Supply is limited!
Product Details
Grow in full sun and keep the soil wet at all times. Like other American pitcher plants, these will go dormant in the winter and re-emerge in the spring.

healthy, huge, several growing tips, abundant roots and...green, green, beautiful green!!! carefully packed in a sturdy box and quick shipping--it arrived before the shipping notice email did, LOL; currently outside getting used to full sun, a little bit of burn right now, but growing tips are already sending up new stuff...
