Description

Commonly known as the primrose butterwort, Pinguicula primuliflora grows in rosettes of long, green leaves.  They produce multiple flower stalks, and typically have white flowers.  The surfaces of the leaves and flower stems are covered with droplets of glistening adhesive.  Insects become stuck to these surfaces, and are then digested.  These plants specialize in catching gnats, fruit-flies, and other small insects.  Without these plants, our greenhouse would be completely overrun with fungus-gnats.  At this time, we only offer bare-root specimens of Pinguicula primuliflora.

Grow in partial sun and keep damp year round. They do well on sunny windowsills. They can also be grown outside in most areas, but should be protected from freezing temperatures.
