Description

Known as the yellow butterwort, Pinguicula lutea grows in small rosettes of yellow-green leaves.  They produce multiple flower stocks, and typically have bright yellow flowers.  The surfaces of the leaves and flower stems are covered with droplets of glistening adhesive.  Insects become stuck to these surfaces, and are then digested.  These plants specialize in catching gnats, fruit-flies, and other small insects.
