Perhaps the most popular and easiest Nepenthes to grow, ventricosa makes a perfect beginner plant.  Nepenthes ventricosa are remarkably adaptable to a variety of growing conditions, including sunny windowsills, unheated terrariums and even outdoors in milder climates.  This variety of Nepenthes ventricosa produces red, tubby, hourglass-shaped pitchers with red scalloped peristomes (the lip around the pitcher opening.)
