Perhaps the most popular and easiest Nepenthes to grow, ventricosa makes a perfect beginner plant.  Unlike most Nepenthes ventricosa, the mature pitchers of Nepenthes ventricosa "Black Peristome" have deeply colored openings that range from dark red to purple.  Nepenthes ventricosa "Black Peristome" are remarkably adaptable to a variety of growing conditions, including sunny windowsills, unheated terrariums and even outdoors in milder climates.

I received a small, healthy, and vigorous plant acclimated to lower humidity. It is thriving on my windowsill with bright sunlight and frequent waterings. I am very happy with this plant.
