Nepenthes burkei is an attractive and forgiving plant, making it an excellent choice for a beginning grower.  Nepenthes burkei produces green, hour-glass shaped pitchers with red blotches and dark red, flared peristomes. Nepenthes burkei has historically been confused with its very similar and far more common relative Nepenthes ventricosa, and has only recently entered mainstream cultivation.
