Nepenthes aristolochioides is perhaps the most bizarre and characteristic plant in the genus.  Unlike any other Nepenthes species, the openings of Nepenthes aristolochioides are on the side of the pitcher rather than the top.  This gives the pitchers of Nepenthes aristolochioides a unique hunchback appearance.  Nepenthes aristolochioides grows in very cool conditions, and remains rare in cultivation.
