Nepenthes ampullaria is one of the most unique species of Nepenthes. They tend to produce clusters of charming, tubby pitchers with skinny, reflexed lids. These clusters can become so dense that the plant appears to be nothing more than a carpet of pitchers. The "Harlequin" form of Nepenthes ampullaria produces striking red pitchers with green and purple speckles.
